Innovation: The Resource Sector Needs You! | with Simon Vincent, Rod Houston, Colm O’Brien
The Resources Sector is a ‘tough nut to crack’ for developers and providers of new technologies and services. Large miners and refiners are understandably reluctant to jeapordise existing operations by introducing new and relatively untested innovations into well-established plants and processes. The ability of the big players to turn good profits in recent years without doing too much differently has also led to limited urgency for change.
But with the much-hyped resources boom clearly starting to cool in recent times, has the need for innovation changed? Will tighter profit margins present greater opportunities for new technology and service offerings or will the market become even tougher? How can companies best position themselves to take advantage of any new opportunities or use innovations to gain advantage to survive and thrive in an increasingly competitive and shrinking market?
LESANZ and RIG invite you to a late afternoon panel discussion where these issues and more will be explored by our guest panelists. Each will share different perspectives on how to promote and sell new innovations into this conservative sector and the changing need for innovation as the sector transitions out of the boom.
